FDC AMONG THE WINNERS AT THE IPE CONFERENCE & AWARDS 2025

The IPE Conference & Awards has been rewarding excellence in Europe's highly diverse and innovative pensions industry for 25 years and is the premier event of its kind with the largest annual gathering of pension funds in Europe.

This year, FDC was the winner in the “Small Countries” category.

The judges recognised FDC as the best among small-country peers due to its combination of sovereign strength, disciplined governance, and strategic diversification. Transparent risk policies and robust institutionalised investment process underpin moderate yet consistent returns, while strong ESG integration – including Article 8 and 9 alignment, LuxFLAG labelling, and Paris-aligned benchmarks – demonstrates an ambitious sustainability vision. The fund’s rigorous oversight, diversified portfolio, and a € 500 million allocation to clean-energy infrastructure all reflect clear strategic foresight.

Overall, FDC stands out for delivering excellent results, maintaining disciplined risk management, and executing a well-thought-out, low-cost strategy, setting a benchmark for both financial resilience and sustainable fund management.

This holistic, forward-looking strategy exemplifies how small nations can lead globally in responsible investment and long-term value creation.

Thus, the strategic takeaways in relation to FDC highlighted during the conference were:

  • Disciplined governance: strong oversight and transparent risk policies ensure consistent returns.
  • Strategic diversification: diversified portfolio with € 500 million in clean energy demonstrates foresight.
  • Sustainability leadership: ESG integration and Paris-aligned benchmarks set a global standard.
